As many as 30 percent of individuals decide to not get married due to the idea that they have not found the right person yet. Another 27 percent of individuals do not believe that they are financially stable enough to take on a huge cost for their wedding and other expenses. Lastly, 22 percent of individuals decide to hold back on getting married because they do not feel as if they are ready to settle down.
When planning a marriage, most women would like their potential husband to be financially secure and to have the ability to help raise their children. In the 1960’s, as many as 93 percent of men between the ages of 25 and 34 were employed. In the 2010’s, however, 82 percent of men in the same age group were employed. Due to the drastic change in the economy, the attitude on marriage has changed significantly.
